Thailand, especially around the islands in the Southern provinces, has some of the finest dive sites in the world. Thailand also have some of the finest diving companies and diving schools who cater for the domestic Thai tourists as well as those who have flown in from the far flung corners of the world.

Less well know perhaps are the companies that supply dive equipment, the dive shops who import their diving equipment such as fins, masks, wetsuits, dive bottles and regulators from renowned dive equipment manufacturers.

One dive instructor who runs a successful diving school and dive shop in Phuket was surprised to find out that the expensive wetsuits he was importing, at a premium price, were actually made here in Chiang Mai over 1,000 kilometers to the north and far away from the blue seas and pristine white beaches of Phuket.

I knew of this company because they had asked me to source large re-usable syringes to use in the assembly of the neoprene panels that make up their wetsuits. I introduced the dive company to them. Now they have a local source for their dive suits and other diving accessories at less than half the price they were paying before.
